Transform Your Wet Spaces with Live Stakes!
Do you have an eroding stream bank, a soggy backyard, or a seasonal wet area that needs some love?

Join West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District (WMSWCD) staff for a hands-on, outdoor workshop. You’ll learn how to properly harvest and plant native “live stakes” like willow and dogwood to control erosion, improve water quality, and boost local habitat.
Live-staking is one of the most cost-effective and rewarding ways to restore streamsides and wet areas. Come ready to get dirty, take home some live stakes, and learn the skills to transform your own property!
Helpful to know: This event will be held rain or shine. Please dress for the weather; rubber boots or waterproof boots are recommended. This field site does not have toilets or running water–there is a public portable toilet 6 min down the road. Please bring your own water and lunch if needed. We will be walking approx. 1-2 miles over uneven and muddy terrain and carrying up to 10 lbs of plant material and tools. Children are welcome with their guardian.
