We are very pleased to share that Casey Jogerst has joined us as our new District Manager.
Casey brings over 20 years of experience in environmental sciences with a focus on forestry. She holds a B.S. in Science from the University of Iowa and a M.S. in Forestry from Michigan Technological University, which she completed concurrently with service in the Peace Corps.
Casey began her career in City of New York City working as a forester on the Million Trees Campaign. In 2012, Casey relocated to the Midwest to serve as an Urban Forestry Manager for the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Building on her experiences in New York and Milwaukee, Casey later moved to Portland, where she spent 12 years as the Permitting and Regulation Manager with Portland Parks & Recreation’s Urban Forestry division. In the role, she oversaw tree regulations with the goal of protecting and enhancing the city’s urban forest.
Casey is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist, ISA Municipal Specialist, and ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. She also serves as an educational facilitator for the Urban & Community Forestry Society (UCFS), Municipal Forestry Institute (MFI), and is an advisory member of the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (NUCFAC). In her spare time, Casey enjoys trail running and cycling, and volunteers as a search and rescue responder.
Casey shares, “I was drawn to this role because of the District’s mission and the important work the staff is doing. I am honored to be a part of this team and excited to help lead, support, and guide as we continue to move the District forward together.”
