Scott Gall

Scott has been working for soil and water conservation districts since 2006 and at West Multnomah SWCD since 2008.  As the Soil Conservationist, Scott provides technical expertise to farmers, livestock operators, and horse owners in the District.

He also leads the District’s efforts to restore large scale floodplains and wetlands along the Columbia River and Multnomah Channel, specifically the restoration of Sturgeon Lake, which has been a West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District signature project for over 30 years.

Scott graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Natural Resources and an MS in Soil Science.  A lover of all things related to soil, he has worked to grow the District’s Soil School workshop, offered every spring since 2011.  Soil School brings together soil lovers from all walks of life to learn how to care for and improve their soil resources.

Prior to working at West Multnomah, Scott got his start at the Columbia SWCD where he was the technical lead and district manager.  In his spare time, Scott enjoys kayaking, skiing and trying to keep up with his two daughters.
