West Multnomah County is home to a number of floating home communities, offering a living experience with a unique set of natural resource benefits and challenges. In our District, most floating homes and marinas dot the left side of the Multnomah Channel, with two located north and south of Sauvie Island.
A new publication is now available to help guide those who rent or own floating homes or own and manage moorages in our District. The guide covers a host of issues unique to folks who live on the water and care about protecting and enhancing the natural resources around them.
West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and Scappoose Bay Watershed Council compiled and wrote the guide along with key members of the houseboat/moorage community.
