Stormwater Stars is a West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District Program that offers free site visits to identify opportunities for simple, cost-effective landscape improvements that support decentralized stormwater management. Some properties may be selected as demonstration workshop sites, where volunteers help install stormwater-friendly features as part of a hands-on community learning event. These events are powerful community-building and land-care events. We hope you’ll consider offering your site for this use.
On our main Stormwater Stars page, learn more about the workshops, what we can offer, and what we do not cover.
The fine print
Demonstrations and site visits conducted through this program do not include recommendations for drainage piping or plumbing, basement flooding, foundation problems or foundation drains, French drains, retaining walls, landslide prevention, mitigation of high groundwater, or the capture and infiltrationInfiltration Water absorbs into the ground instead of running over the surface of runoff. We recommend that property owners consult a qualified licensed engineer to address such issues.
