The Scappoose Bay Watershed Council (SBWC) is happy to answer any questions at its Native Plant Sale, Saturday, October 14th, and help you pick out the right plant for your yard, landscape, or natural area. To see the list of natives plants for sale, visit http://www.scappoosebay-wc.org/native-plant-nursery/. The Native Plant Nursery is located at the greenhouse behind Scappoose High School, off Hwy. 30 in Scappoose.
The SBWC Native Plant Center has one of the region’s largest selections of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, ferns and sedges. Plants are propagated by volunteers for the SBWC habitat restoration projects, given to landowners to enhance their properties, and sold during their twice-yearly native plant sale to support the program. Volunteers are welcome at work parties every Thursday from 9 am to noon at Scappoose High School. Volunteers are encouraged to help in all aspects of the nursery, and there is something for everyone’s interest. If you are interested or have questions, you can contact Amber at (503) 397-7904 or at email@example.com to sign up for the volunteer email list.
