Botanical keys can be very daunting. This one-day class, part of Native Plant Awareness Week, will teach you how to use a key to identify live or pressed plants. The first part of the day will be with plants in a classroom, learning how to read a key and getting familiar with basic technical vocabulary. The class will be highly interactive, to get you the knowledge you need to improve your keying skills. Later, you’ll take your knowledge into the field, bringing your flora with you and keying out plants in their native habitats.
The fee of $10 will cover materials. Bring a copy of Hitchcock & Cronquist’s Flora of the Pacific Northwest if you have one. Please register by emailing email@example.com. You will receive more detailed information about the workshop when your spot is reserved.
