July 2020 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee Meeting

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District (WMSWCD) will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is a standing Committee to the West Multnomah SWCD Board of Directors. Comprised of both Board and District staff, the Committee advises the Board on implementation of the District’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative. The purpose of the Initiative is to ensure the District is a culturally inclusive organization that welcomes and engages everyone in all facets of our organization, activities, and programs.

Due to health and safety measures in place during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will take place by conference call. Members of the public are welcomed. Any person may attend the meeting by calling 971-247-1195. A conference ID will be required to access the conference call. This meeting will include a review of the past meeting’s summary and a review of the financial report. There will also be discussions on: WMSWCD’s policy and process for the recruitment of associate board directors and how to make the process equitable; reports on the District’s DEI efforts for the Board of Directors; voluntary staff DEI sessions outside of the DEI committee; possible addition of an August 2020 meeting; review of action items; and questions to be answered by the DEI Committee related to Organizational Health and Conservation Scope Evolving Success Criteria components of the District’s Long-Range Business Plan Update development process. The Long-Range Business Plan is a strategic planning document that guides the scope of the District’s conservation work and the necessary financial sustainability and organizational health to implement this work for the next 5 years (2021-2025).
