Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Meeting – September 2020

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee of the West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District (WMSWCD) will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is a standing Committee to the West Multnomah SWCD Board of Directors. Comprised of both Board and District staff, the Committee advises the Board on implementation of the District’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative. The purpose of the Initiative is to ensure the District is a culturally inclusive organization that welcomes and engages everyone in all facets of our organization, activities, and programs.
Due to health and safety measures in place during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will take place by conference call. Members of the public are welcomed. Any person may attend the meeting by calling 971-247-1195. A conference ID will be required to access the conference call. Interested participants may request the ID by emailing email@example.com with the subject line “Request for Conference ID”. Meeting documents will be available for inspection on the District’s webpage (https://wmswcd.org/people-places-things/the-west-multnomah-swcd/diversity-and-equity/) no later than Tuesday, September 22, 2020. This meeting will include a review of the past meeting’s summary; discussion of future DEI Committee Chair position and term lengths; continued discussion of WMSWCD’s recruitment process for Associate Board Directors; a presentation by GIS & Field Conservation Intern, Cole Carr, on a draft report (with maps) on the demographics of schools within WMSWCD; and review of the current standing meeting day and time for the committee and if that can change to be more inclusive.
